When Film Noir Met Clash of Clans
For the launch of Clash of Clans' ‘Dark Days’ season (an homage to 1940s mobster films and film noir), they needed a standout piece of content to drive excitement. So, we designed a fully frame-by-frame animation that brought the noir world of ‘Dark Days’ to life. The narrative followed the Debt Collector — a goblin with a treasure chest full of loot — voiced in a classic inner monologue style that echoed the tone of noir crime dramas. Rendered entirely in black and white, with meticulous attention to lighting and atmosphere, the animation showcased both the character and the season’s theme in a way that felt fresh and elevated.
